something i'd like 2 talk about
normally i'd just keep this to status posts but i'd like more room to elaborate on some things since status posts r ugly when it comes to big paragraphs.
it's really important to consider what context you place your ocs in, and what they represent. if you've never considered this before, take a step back now and reflect. ask yourself, who/what are your characters based off of? what context do they exist in?what messages and morals do they send to the audience? what are they symbolic of? how do they reflect you as a person?
characters, stories, and fiction do not exist in a vacuum. just because fiction is not "real" does not stop it

QUILLCOIL/SHEYLU artist beware
update 21/11/2018 still no response, no acknowledgement of taking my money lmao.
This has been a long time coming, and I never like having to get near this ultimatum, but it's necessary at this point.
I don't know where my notes from 3 years ago went since I have a habit of not deleting notes and separating them into categories http://prntscr.com/k5ga4c (still have 2015 notes buried), so
please, as I have no reason to lie about any of this, I don't blame you for being even the slightest bit skeptical.
I see no reason as to why anyone would, but don't bother this person in regards to this. I do not think they are a bad person nor deserve
An alternate method to expand your comfort zone! by Remarin, journal
An alternate method to expand your comfort zone!
Anthro Week
Everyone has probably experienced something similar to this: you consider yourself being fairly good at drawing this specific thing and you enjoy it too. But you want to get good at drawing something new, and hope that you can start this subject off with equal ease and experienced intuition. However, upon tackling this new thing, you suddenly are met with feeling like a beginner all over again and quickly lose your enthusiasm. After all, it's not enjoyable to be bad at something while knowing what your best can look like.
I'd say this is the common artist's dilemma of the "comfort zone", and broadening it is a struggle most arti
General status update + Pride icons! [STILL OPEN] by Tsukibahara, journal
General status update + Pride icons! [STILL OPEN]
Hey guys! As you can see after two months of therapy and having some time for myself I'm fully back and good as new (well, almost(?)) I'm doing my best every day to keep getting better!
And I finally regained the strength to draw for myself and get back to work <3
Sooo it's pride month, and I'm open for Pride icons!
I'll basically do any species (including humans) and any flag! The finished piece will look like this:
$25 each!
350x350 px
Just comment with a ref of your character and the flag you want me to use!
These are ideal for twitter and fA!
Happy pride month guys! Be gay and be safe <3
Talking about applying for art schools in detail by Remarin, journal
Talking about applying for art schools in detail
Context: So far I have only ever applied to one university, the animation school Gobelins in Paris. I have finally been through the last stage and will find out wether I have been accepted or not on the 25th.
The advice listed here will still remain the same even if I haven't been accepted, it is a culmination of what I have absorbed from teachers, professionals and students. Face to face, via chat, or by online videos.
I hope this might make the process feel a bit less overwhelming to anyone going through or about to go through something similar!
I'm mostly talking from just my personal experience, so don't hesitate to add your own, or add
I was recently mentioned in a comment where my DevArt stats (views per day, comments per deviation, etc) were being compared with those of other (in my opinion: better) artists. The question over why mine were higher was being discussed.
Though they never touched on it, I think volume is the key.
Said “better artists” have around 300-800 images in their DA gallery, while I’ve sharted 2,750 or so onto the website.
Throw enough stuff around and something will invariably stick…. Or, at the very least, the stench will be noticed!
Content is king. If you want your work to sustain an audience, you have to keep producing
This generation of artists/creative types is going to be unstoppable when they stop seeking unnecessary validation to express themselves. When I say that I don't mean "you shouldn't need compliments or positive reinforcement to make that thing more", I mean we need to listen to listen to our intuition rather than external sources all of the time. There ought to be a healthy blend of both. Goodnight

Besides that however, hkgeitjdyrh (https://www.deviantart.com/hkgeitjdyrh) and Zecknot (https://www.deviantart.com/zecknot), not long after posting this journal, have both turned tail and ran away to tumblr, and wiped clean everything on their accounts. (that's why everything to the right of the original art by vaporotem (https://www.deviantart.com/vaporotem) is blank/there's just links titled "ARCHIVE." now I'm glad I saved everything just in case Lex would do this lmao) Lex goes under jexplosion and Zecknot is still Zecknot, you can find their links below.

HELLO YOU ALL!
For reasons I cannot tell more than major-health-problems, I was dead for a long time on all social media places. Now, slowly, I want back into the game. Might take some more time but I'm reaching it.
Thank you for the wait~
It saddest me that I return JUST IN TIME to make a big call out for a user named hkgeitjdyrh (https://www.deviantart.com/hkgeitjdyrh).
If you may, PLEASE read this Journal made by RABBFERR (https://www.deviantart.com/rabbferr) (who made it without me even asking holyshit I'm still amazed you babu:heart:) to see how it all goes.
This saga started around 2 years ago when I first caught hkgeitjdyrh (https://www.deviantart.com/hkgeitjdyrh) doing that shit. She promised she will change and what not
